All decisions are contextualized by story.

Stories are the natural language of the human operating system.

There are no right or wrong decisions. There are only stories that frame those decisions.

Have you heard the ancient Chinese story about the man and his horse? One day, the horse escapes. The villagers pity the man, bemoaning his loss. The next day, the horse returns with three more horses. The villagers praise the man's circumstances. And so on and so forth.

We don't know what our circumstances will bring us to contextualize what happens to us.

So too is it with our decisions—are they right or wrong? Only the context and story can inform, frame, and justify rightness or wrongness.

Here's my invitation: when you are faced with a decision, whether in front of you or behind you, play a thought experiment. What different scenarios and circumstances would change the way I feel about whether this decision is right or wrong?
